Dumb SEO Questions

(Entry was posted by Nebojsa Djukic on this post in the Dumb SEO Questions community on Facebook, 11/20/2015).

Upload the content to a new domain.

Let`s say you had an old site with 10, 000 posts and you want to upload the content on a new domain.

Is it smart to upload all the posts at once or it`s better to split it in several batches and to upload periodically?

Is there something like "too much posts per day" or webmasters shouldn`t worry about such things? ?

  • Jim Munro: Aha, a chance to improve pronunciation. :)

I would not give it a second thought, Nebojsa. Discovery is limited by crawl rate so googlebot won't even know you have 10K posts until they are crawled. I think that worrying about how many posts per day is overthinking it.
  • Dave Elliott: for a new domain i'd chcuk them all on at once. Apart from anything else, the old articles will have links or authority and you will need to divert them or risk losing visibility!

  • Nebojsa Djukic: Thanks a lot, guys! You're right, I uploaded 10k posts and Google is indexing 500 a day or so. Rankings of old posts aren't affected at all.

+Jim Munro You're better and better every time! :)
