What type of domain i should purchase?

  Edwin Jonk: I would go for a none exact match domain (or EMD) [1]. By that, I wouldn't go with too many hyphens unless it makes sense. For example penisland(dot)com versus pen-island(dot)com.

  Collin Davis: That answer should be based considering various factors -
  
  1. Are you trying to rank in a specific region. Then going for country specific is recommended - co.in, co.uk, .es
  2. Is your domain an educational or a government organization - then you .edu or .gov
  3. Users always prefer .com That is how the lay person outside of marketing sees website address to be in. Slightly differing from +Edwin Jonk here, you could go for an EMD domain provided you give value to your users via your website.

  If it is available i'd always go for yourbrandname.com if availible and it doesn't make you sound like a sex pest if misread. ;

  Edwin Jonk: +Collin Davis ;I do agree with your comment. EMD' s are not "spammy" out of the box, but they are "flagged" sooner, thereby, they are more risky. That is why I would avoid EMD's, but for sure you can use them without any problems...
