The right number of keywords in order to avoid Google penalty

On page SEO;

I saw a lot of documentation about keywords density and the opinions are very different.
In your opinion, what’s the right number of keywords (percentage on page text) in order to avoid Google penalty (keyword stuffing)?

  • SEMXE: hi +Gabriel Partenie, there is no fixed percentage as such for keyword stuffing. ;
    Best practice would be to just don't think about any particular keyword, and write your content as your are writing for humans. Make use of synonyms and related keywords to make your content search friendly.

    Suppose, you are writing some piece on 'Keywords', then try to make use of words like - keywords, key phrase, search queries, search engines, searcher, words to search, search algorithm, short keywords, long tail keywords, etc. in your article. That way you would be naturally targeting and writing about what is required.

    Hope that would help.

  • Carol Gray: you have to keep on experimenting on putting keywords as it will take time to find which keyword is really going to work so find them appropriately , though 8 keywords per page are good enough but the focus should be on content than keywords, whichever keyword you use there must be unique, interesting and relevant content should be there for it.

  • Tim Capper: Write for your customers and not for search engines. A search engine will not buy your product, but your user will.

    Hummingbird has created a whole new way search engines understand and read a page semantically, so use synonyms and natural language around the keyword.
