Jen Holzman: If it is a considerable amount of spammy backlinks, you'll have to use the disavow tool https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=en
Ligatures.Net: On top of disavowing those links, report them to Google (via their forum), ;because they may identify pattern and neutralize these sites before they start harming. Google welcomes such information.
