Hi, if number of visits affects SERPs ranking, should I wait to publicise a blog hosted on my own domain until it has been indexed??

I presume you won't stop promoting the blog once its indexed so go launch. ;

With a blog launch I think its more important to have a decent amount of content pre-written before launch so new readers have something to browse through..... at least 10 posts.
Adrian Farrell: I'm not a prolific writer, and only just starting, got 4 so far. It's occurred to me that a blog can be promoted more than once :)
Toni Anicic: The number of visitors, as far as most of SEOs agree and researches show, does not affect rankings (at least not directly). Start promoting sooner rather than later. If you have good stuff, you want people to read it now while it's fresh and up to date.
