Should you use local SEO if you have a worldwide company? Will this hurt your worldwide SEO?

  • Stockbridge Truslow: If there is money to be made from walk-in business, then you can. But it`s a much more complex system you have to build to make sure Google understands it. If there`s nothing to be made from local walk-in traffic, I wouldn`t do it - unless you`re ready for that challenge. I`ve done it before - and made it work after LOTS of tweaking and tinkering and adjusting and tweaking again. And if I were to do it again, I`m not sure that the process wouldn`t be just as difficult this time.

  • Rienzi Mosqueda: What does worldwide company mean? If your target market are location based then you should be setting up your online profile accordingly. For example my Custom software client can offer their services globally - but boy it was a 60 degree climb so I recommended shifting their focus on local signals. The result is better converting leads.
