Should the Disavow file be left untouched?

  Peter Cornish: Is it true that the WebMasters Disavow file should be left untouched after its submission until a rank recovery is observed?
  
  Its been claimed that resubmitting a disavow prior to recovery literally resets its processing timeframe so never being processed by Google.
  
  Anyone have experience with this?

  Jim Munro: All I can say is that I've never heard a Google spokesperson make that claim. I think you should be able to change it as often as you want. AFAIK it just sits there until it is viewed or consumed. Apparently at one point it was only viewed but not consumed for useful purposes. There have been no announcements to the contrary but they keep mentioning it so I suppose they might be using it now.

  The cuetimes listed on this page are functional while the live broadcast continues and also once Youtube has finished processing the public broadcast. Processing time varies between 6-24 hours. During this period the clip is viewable in full but the cuetimes cannot be relied on.
