SEO content for inventory pages

What type of content would anyone recommend writing for ATV dealers/motorcycle dealers or lawn mower dealers when they`re website consists mainly of inventory pages? I`ve been writing brand pages, creating authority and crawlable content for the major brands, and then from there trying to create product comparison pages for the top product categories or models, but if anyone has any ideas of strategies that would better help user intent, that would be great? I`m limited by the platform the site is on as well, so that is hurting me a bit, as I can`t perfect some of the technical factors or create/utilize a blog page .

  • Jody Nesbitt: fun facts, weekends away, focus on the valued added parts of it for people, so "why do we buy these things" as opposed to what they are what they do for us -- do a google search and check what the competition have done
  • Michael Stricker: Reviews. Of brands, yes, but of the dealer, better still.
  • Cassy Gebben: Thanks for the advice! I`ve been trying to showcase their reviews and encourage additional reviews and make a page out of it. The Why We Buy Things idea is great too! I appreciate it :)
  • Michael Stricker: User videos as testimonials can be huge... a little promotion and thousands of views on YouTube. Links and CTA overlay ads to bring viewers back to the site.
  • Mary Davies: Videos of awesome ATVing, motorcycling, etc with accompanied write up describing it. Also creates shareable content :) People connect with stories. I know this isn`t really sales content but it is content that gets shared and connects and that turns into brand awareness and sales :) PS ever heard of Detroit Mower Gang? Maybe interview them and do a write up! Who knew lawnmowers could be cool?!
  • Jeff Ferguson: Focus on creating content that really answers your clients and potential clients questions. This doesn`t have to be a "blog"... in fact, I`ve been telling a lot of clients that they don`t have to blog lately, especially if it`s for an industry no one really wants to read about from a vendor. Instead, do some research around the typical questions that are asked when purchasing your product and dedicate a page of content to that subject. Make the title the specific question (or some close variation). It`s an old school FAQ, but they still have merit, especially given the rise of voice-based search (10% of searches are voice based now, and that will be up over 50% by 2020). Also, remember, to write for mobile searchers... most of your prospects are probably standing in a dealer across town, wondering if the guy who`s chatting them up knows his stuff - prove you do by answering the questions in a mobile friendly format (lead with the answer, don`t make it too long, etc.). Good luck!
  • Jeff Jockisch: Once you have your basic content flowing, add in some 10x content. Something that requires more work but that no one else is going to have. Something worthy of inbound links. A couple ideas: 1) Gather pics of a top model/brand over the last 20 or 30 years and pay someone on Upwork to morph them. 2) Gather stats on the same, or industry wide, and see how things have changed over time. I bet there is a lot of insight. 3) Find the top 20-50 influencers on ATVs on Twitter. Come up with one or more interesting questions and write an article around it. Ask these influencers for their answer to the question tell them you will give them attribution and notify them when you publish.
