Is it good to put up a coming soon page?

When building a site. Is it good to put up a coming soon page? With some of the company information as in name address phone number as it is on google? And would you index it? And if so do you have to re-index it once you`re done building the page the way you want? Thank you

  • E Dieter Martin: Search engines usually don`t index "under construction" sites. There is no SEO value to be had. Having a coming soon page is still a good idea, because it gives the visitor an idea what`s going on and makes you hopefully look different than an URL squatter or a GoDaddy domain parking page.

  • Tim Capper: Group expertCreating a holding page makes sense if you have an offline marketing campaign and people need somewhere to visit for more info - register for alert when ready and live.

  • MichaÅ‚ Borzyszkowski: If you have a fresh domain (without links or history) it would make sens to create some OnePage for Google to index and earn some authority while creating your new website (especially if it will take few months).

Also having small but informative site will allow you to start a linking campain which will make it easier to rank your new site in the future.
