Using 2 (or more) versions of the same content on the website

Hi everyone. I have a "dumb" question about using 2 (or more) versions of the same content on the website.I know about canonicals, duplication, and cannibalization. The question is if it`s possible to have the same content on two different pages and get both of them ranking. The hreflang tag is not an option as it`s the same text, even if targeted to different countries.

  • Stockbridge Truslow: Group expertYeah - this is the direction I`d be wanting to let them go. It`s no different than any other product really. Let them describe it and market it how they choose.

Also... Ideally they could show it on their own site and just link to the purchase if it is done through your site. If they are all housed on your site - then they really are duplicate content. If I have everything (but the purchase functions) on my own site, the difference is that I`m the seller/provider and that`s enough for any product to get it considered. Whether it will rank or not - that`s up to them.

  • Michael Martinez: Group expertYes it`s possible but the more competitive the query the less likely you`d get both pages to rank.
