I thought of having another category

Hi there, I’ve an e-commerce website selling sportswear and I’m shifting from Wordpress to Shopify. Previously I only have pages for categories like tops, pants, leggings. However, after researching I found that there were many keywords that were activity related so I thought of having another category based on activities for example gym, yoga, run, training so I can rank for more keywords. I’ll be writing different content for each page and filtering out products that are only related to those activities. However, as my current range is slightly small so I’m not sure if I’m creating too much pages and will it be considered doorway pages and get penalized for it? Thanks so much in advance!
