Has anyone noticed Google Analytics dropping visits and calling them sessions?

  Mikita Shah: Yes I saw it today. With the new analytic code there has been a new session coming up instead of visits. But I guess it's the same idea.

  bharat thakare: Session could mean they are tracking interaction with the website rather than just visits. They may also be changing how they evaluate website for ranking purposes. Hope to hear more from experts.

  Yes, I too have seen a drop in the overall traffic to my website but its not related with the change in the terminology. ;I guess this terminology change is in line with Universal Analytics ;as Analytics no longer just tracks a site ‘visit’, it is now tracking a ‘user’ navigation across various apps, devices or in-store ‘sessions’.
