Dave Elliott: Can someone explain what the point of G+'s new collections is? Will using this increase visibility to my posts on here?
Joel C: Spam and confusion. That's it. Now content people used to share in specific communities they share to the wider audience in "collections" clogging up the stream. If anything, it will reduce your exposure.
Dave Elliott: This is about my feelings as well. But, want to see if anyone has anything positive to say about them!
Michelle Dear: Wait. I'm rewriting this. I put posts that I'm sharing to the public directly in collections when I share them--not things that I post to groups. It makes it easier for me to find them when I want to refer back to them. So I like collections. Plus, if I want to go to someone else's page and they have collections, that's nice. But if I share to a group, I don't double-back and share it to public just so I can put it in a collection. If I want to keep it, I use a different repository for articles that I want to keep.
