Would you recommend Raven Tools?

Hi guys. I work on an ecommerce site. We`re currently using a free trial of Raven Tools. Would anyone recommend buying it permanently? Let me know your thoughts if you`d all be so kind :) Thanks?

  • Gareth Marshall: Hi guys. I work on an ecommerce site. We're currently using a free trial of Raven Tools. Would anyone recommend buying it permanently? Let me know your thoughts if you'd all be so kind :) Thanks
  • Richard Foulkes: I've used Raven in the past and for me it was great theres a lot of different tools out there that help with different needs, but from a all rounder point of view raven is great, its knowing how to use the data you can extract thats the most important. So perhaps spend time understanding the power of the data before you decide.
  • Gareth Marshall: Brilliant Richard. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. I shall feedback to the decision makers here! Thanks again
  • Richard Foulkes: Not a problem glad I could help! Feel free to ask me any other questions!
  • Dave Elliott: There are a lot of other equivalent tools and most offer trials so it might be worth trying them out as well. Cognitiveseo, hubspot, AnalyticsSEO ;and search metrics are all on my list of things i want to try as well as raven (from a brief look i think it is between cognative and raven)
  • Gareth Marshall: +Dave Elliott ;Thanks Dave. I think we're definitely going to try out a few free trials and dip our toe in so to speak! We'd not heard of Cognitive so we'll definitely have a look at that. Cheers for posting it's much appreciated!
  • Mike Cooke: I used to use raven about a year ago, what is the main tool you want it for and as +Dave Elliott ;said there are loads of free trails and Ill be honest i have tried most so let me know what you mainly want it for and i will list the best tools.
  • Gareth Marshall: Hi Mike. Thanks for replying. I suppose we'd want something like Raven to help us to keep on top of broken links, duplicate content, bad metas etc. Just a general overview of our SEO efforts to compliment our use of Analytics if you see what I mean? None of us here know all the very technical skills of SEO so we're after something like this to give us that little bit more of a helping hand, really! Cheers
  • Mike Cooke: do you use wordpress as it is easy with that.
  • Dave Elliott: Oh right if you want the basics than have a look at moz and web ceo(especially web ceo). Raven is probably a bit expensive and deep for what you need.
  • Richard Foulkes: I agree with +Dave Elliott ;Raven can be pricey, as with a lot of the other tools, Moz is reasonable but if you just want to optimise your titles, metas and things like that you could use loads of free tools like screaming frog to find broken links and free versions of majestic to look at links etc so sometimes you don't need to pay for all these licenses.
  • Gareth Marshall: +Mike Cooke ;No our blog is built on Wordpress, but the rest of our site isn't. ;
  • Gareth Marshall: +Dave Elliott ;Ok thanks again for this Dave!
  • Gareth Marshall: +Richard Foulkes ;Thanks again, Richard!
  • Mike Cooke: ah i would follow +Dave Elliott ;in that case with screaming frog and moz, for links there is semrush and majestic seo, both are good. Serp tracking i am trying this at the min www.positionly.com there are loads. Wordpress get yoast and the local and premium plugins, they are worth it.
  • Gareth Marshall: Ok brilliant thanks for your help, Mike!
  • Mike Cooke: Anytime dude good luck.
