Dumb SEO Questions

Will low quality writing on one blog affect the ranking of another blog?

Question about Authorship... I am writing for several different blogs, some of them don`t pay very well compared to others, therefore the quality of writing that gets posted is `subpar` from time to time, however I always use my Google Authorship tag for every article of every blog. My question is will low quality writing on one blog affect the ranking of another blog if the 2 articles are only connected by having the same author? If my crappy articles negatively affect my good articles, I may have to make a sacrifice...?

  • Frank Rodríguez: Yes , you are the source . authorship is effective applied to ONE end, not various
  • Tim Capper: You can apply authorship to all your articles according to Google.

However herein lies the problem. You have mentioned that some are not great quality. This month Google confirmed that they have taken action algorithmically over the use of authorship on lower quality content and this has been seen in the serps.

In fact I have had my authorship from not showing on some sites.

I have removed these from my contributor section. As I don't want these affecting my other content and trust signals.

The choice is really yours as Google says you can apply to all your articles but they wont show on lower quality ones now
