Does enabling trackbacks and pingbacks on articles help?

Hi there !

I want to ask, does enabling trackbacks and pingbacks on articles helps?

I mean, they actually don`t seem nice to me, showing two three pingbacks on articles, they looks some what clumsy.

So, if I don`t display them, then any problem??

  • Adam Heaton: Just get rid of them, they are of no use to SEO from what I am aware of and I agree, they look rubbish.
  • E.Dieter Martin: For your own SEO, they don't do much. However, it establishes you in the blogging community as somebody who plays nice by referring back to the people who linked to you.
An added advantage is the fact that you often catch clumsy attempts of duplicating your or others content.  ;If you always have a reference to your post within your post, many who just cut and paste will create a pingback to the original and more often thant not, you'll find a content thief.
  • Vishal Verma: they are only helpful to find out who linked to your content..
