  • Kavita Shah: Hello Everyone,

In Google webmaster tool m getting an error in Google index > Index status - "Data for https://xyz.com.au is not available. Please try a site with http:// protocol: http://xyz.com.au/.

Can anyone help out with solution to this.
  • Nishant Desai: Hello Kavita,

As the https is a secure server it might not been indexing your site.  ;Try as suggested without the 's' at the end and you may access the insights.
  • Kavita Shah: Thanks for the reply.

But the client do not want to change it to http:, as they have redirected all "http:" urls to "https:". Is there any other way to resolve it.
  • Adam Heaton: https://xyz.com.au/ looks to be down? Is that the site or is taht just an example URL?
  • Kavita Shah: just an example
  • Adam Heaton: To be honest, if you are getting pages indexed when you do a "site:" check for the domain, you should be okay. However, if there are no pages displayed when you do a site check, you may have issues like +Nishant Desai ;has said earlier.
  • Kavita Shah: yes i checked doing site:https://xyz.com.au but it is indexed as xyz.com.au
  • Adam Heaton: How are you redirecting the http to https? are you using 301 redirects or 302?
  • Kavita Shah: 302
