What SEO tools would you recommend?

SEO Friends,

Currently been optimizing a site for 5 months, we`ve increased impressions and clicks dramatically with some fairly basic on-page/off-page techniques but our current avg Google rank for our target keyword remains between 12-18. We`d obviously love to be on the first page. What tactic would you suggest next to have the most impact in rank? What SEO tool would you recommend? Thanks!?

  • Raman Mehrotra: I am on the same boat, we recently moved our website to wordpress responsive website and have seen 20% improvement just in 1 week.

Have you incorporated search queries from GWT and check each backlink
  • Brad Sacks: I forgot to mention it's an e-commerce website targeting customers in USA (.com) and we also have .ca and ranking very well there!
  • Raman Mehrotra: what is the site name
  • Harry Dance: A few tips

-The tool I would recommend is screaming frog. It allows you to get a holistic view of your SEO efforts and to view any areas which potentially have been missed.

-Put around 150 words of content on everyone of your product pages. I did write a quick post on the basic of onsite and there is a checklist, so if you wanted to check it out go to (http://digitaldancer(dot)me/2014/04/09/help-i-shrunk-my-rankings/)

    - if you are going to build links, build them to the homepage and the main category pages, this should have a direct impact on all rankings throughout the website.

-Social Media efforts could benefit your rankings if you bring the right traffic in.

-Use Google analytics/webmaster tools to find the search queries which you have not optimized for your yet and add them onto your onsite, remember only optimize them on the pages which they are naturally landing on. They should rank easy and bring the relevant traffic
  • Brad Sacks: Harry, all great tips. I will start tonight. My customer is applying pressure now but I know it's only a matter of time until the rankings get better.
  • Harry Dance: Tomorrow I'll drop you a message on anything else I can think of. Sorry would do it now but a bbq and beers call
  • Mark Wilston: +Harry Dance ;has suggested a very good material, I am agree on that. I would suggest to have a blog as well within the website and update it regularly. This will help in making your website more optimized and updated websites are always preferred by Google in search results. Best of luck
  • Brad Sacks: I downloaded screaming frog and have been using it. It is great to get an overall picture of a website but I was looking for a tool that highlights troubled areas (pertaining to SEO) on a website, any ideas?
