Federico Sasso: It's a page that, even if it doesn't return an 404 "not found" status code, behaves like that.
Fix: make it a proper (user friendly) 404 page.
Note: large amount of old URLs 301 redirected to the home page are treated by Google as "soft 404" as well. Fix here is redirecting to a better resource if available.
PromozSEO: Agree with +Federico Sasso. 1st - build a custom 404 error page, with navigation and/or search option. 2nd - always try to redirect (301) 404 pages to relevant internal pages.
