Umbrella brand domai

Hi everyone. I wanted to ask if this is a good SEO practice. I have several websites across different domains / ips with static content. eg. not posts, but fixed content that rarely changes and that aims for heavy keywords like "Best Apples". I also have the typical blog posts that can include more long tail keywords with things like "The best 20 organic apples in the US".

On the other hand, I am creating a new website that would be a kind of an umbrella brand for all these domains. One of the ideas for this second domain  is to group all of this long tail posts, and other interesting content to draw people to the website with "viral" stuff, discussions, etc.

To populate fast this umbrella brand domain, I`m thinking in replicating my long tail posts from the different domains, and point them as the source. What are your thoughts on this? Any best practice advise anyone could give on that?

  • Suraj Gadage: +Flavio Bastos Amiel ;Here is the three step process you need to follow in order to achieve this.

    1. Identify all the long tail posts from your different domains that you want to replicate on your umbrella domain (i'm assuming you will identify the posts that are already ranking search results)

    2. publish all long tail posts on your new umbrella domain

    3. Add a 301 redirect on all long tail posts  ;that exist on different domains that you control ;

    (If you follow this process then what would happen is search bots will know that the content has been permanently moved to a new location and user will start coming to your umbrella website)

    Let me know if you have any questions.
