Should I use the whole phrase?

Hello Everyone, my question concerns keywords across the website. I run a free photo stock. If I want to score higher for NATURE in google results, should I use the whole phrase `nature free photos` or `free photos of nature` across the page, or can I just use the word NATURE, add some internal linking, and the algorithms are smart enough to match the keyword NATURE with FREE PHOTOS phrase thats all around the website?

  • Michael Martinez: I think you`re aiming too high. 1-word queries are the most competitive. For me, the first page of Google`s SERP for "nature" is all brands (and I`m not talking about 10 blue links here - they`re being VERY picky).I suggest you aim for something less competitive. Even "free nature photos" is highly competitive.I think you`ll do better in the long run to build brand value in the site name and rank on long tail queries with individual photos and contributor pages. What you want - in terms of sustainable SEO - is for people to search for your site, not for random images or topics.
