Dumb SEO Questions

(Entry was posted by Andrew Mazer on this post in the Dumb SEO Questions community on Facebook, 07/14/2022).

Should I make multiple blog posts on a particular item?

My company sells items in bulk (by the case). We are a wholesaler. We rank pretty well when we use words like WHOLESALE preceded by the noun (name of item). It`s not unusual to rank highly using the word CHEAP also, and there are other terms like FOR SALE, ON SALE, LOWEST PRICE, BEST PRICE, that people use in their search. It would be ridiculous to use too many of these words and phrases in a single product description, page, or blog post. What is YOUR advice? Should we make multiple blog posts on a particular item (or group of items) in order to incorporate more of the various terms people use? Or does that get too spammy?

  • Jamal Parpia: You can incorporate different variations of those keywords across your product descriptions as long as those are unique descriptions and that should help you get the boost you need for a variety of keywords related to what you are selling. SEO works great for a lot of our wholesalers when done properly. Keep things clean, properly structured and unique. Hope that helps.

  • Perry Bernard: Group expertIt’s probably likely to get spammy as you said. Keep in mind Google search works semantically. It means you don’t need every word combination for good SEO, you just need to stick to the core concepts. If you end up creating so much content that it “gets in the way” of conversion, then you’ve gone too far and need a different tactic to keep building search equity.
