How do I ensure that I come up on local searches?

Local SEO question: How do I ensure that I come up on local searches if my business does not have a GMB since no physical product, but has decent authority in the business?

Context: Say I`m running ads or different `marketing campaigns` for a limited location in Country A. My business has more traffic than some of my direct competitors.

However, my top competitors cater to Multi-nationals. So will google perceive them differently from a local search POV?

Reason for asking: My page is doing fairly well in the SERPS. However for this local service is not doing well compared to the other competitors.

  • James Slattery: To be clear - youre looking to rank in organic? Whats youre current rank for the service ? What IS the service/niche ?

  • El Bikito: James Slattery I got around 4k organic traffic. But noticed that for my printing service, this one specifc service page was below the others whereas I excel in other areas.

The competitors were all ranking for the location based service keyword (i.e- ABZ printing au), whereas i wasn`t.

So I noticed google can simply find out that the competitors market to other regions and not limited to au like me.

Will that give them an added SEO advantage?

  • Mike Calder: El Bikito have you used schema for helping to rank for the location, on the page you want to optimise? Use of images and descriptions/location.

  • El Bikito: Mike Calder okay I did use 2 schemas, sitelink and breadcrumb but I believe they use 3.

  • Mike Calder: El Bikito just curious, how is the pricing structure versus the larger competitor. Because for many, printing is usually around a business, so pricing around a budget is going to be a deciding factor. (It might not be about SEO...)

  • Mike Calder: El Bikito and there`s plenty of data coming out about the decline of the printing industry. Virtual business cards is an example. Even the type of printers that can be purchased online on Amazon. Small, compact. For images. Just how in demand is the particular service? Printing services based on hospitality are lower due to tourism restrictions and covid19. Food price increases and creating a menu. How often will the menu change, compared to previous years.Leaflet distribution replaced by emailing. Some things to think about for this service?

  • El Bikito: Mike Calder Okay even though declining industry, my particular printing service in demand, which the direct competitors are monetizing on. As for the pricing, they are more or less same, but not more.

Their frontend /UX work is phenomenal.
