Should I Display the date with meta Description of my Blog Post

  If you update your blog very often and if you write news related posts, it is quite useful as visitors would know when the post was written. However, if you update your blog once or twice in a month and offer non-news related content, showing the post date in Search Engine Result Pages, can actually hurt your Click Through Rate. As the content is not fresh (not updated regularly), secondly it does not look appealing. ;

  Google may show a date with a search result if you provide that information on the page. It does not need to be self added to the meta description.

  Jackson Ertel: Depends on the content I feel. A recent date may aid CTR, an old date may hurt CTR. Perhaps showing it until that post/topic is 3+ months old then removing it?
  Don't know personally if there is a relevant SEO benefit for allowing Google to show a date... Probably does have some impact I would say for the likes of freshness etc...

  Ashish Ahuja: Google is now very sold to freshness. So if the date of your post is being reflected in SERPs then it would rank better till it is fresh.
