Saurabh Rawat: I don't understand why Google is saying that use RSS feeds and sitemap both while we can update our sitemap and add new pages anytime..
Tony McCreath: The main advantage is they are short and contain only recent URLs.Google may crawl them quicker because they know them to be new.
Especially if they support pubsubhubub which means you can notify Google of new URLs in realtime.
Saurabh Rawat: Ohh. You mean If I add new page in sitemap, Google will consider this as normal page not new page.. +Tony McCreath ;is it right? Please confirm this...
Tony McCreath: +Saurabh Rawat ;No, Google will also consider it new if they have not seen it before. However they may re-check an rss feed more frequently as that is designed to only contain new stuff.
Note that being in either file does not guarantee it will get crawled quickly.
Saurabh Rawat: ok, got it.. thank you +Tony McCreath ;
