  Tessa Bonacci: Hi i have a question. I recently took over a site that was previously run by someone else in terms of SEO. We were hit hard with penguin. No manual, just algorithm. Our seprs dropped for two main keywords significantly (from top 20 into the 50's) I did some research and noticed that our anchor text exact match is about 50% which is not good however, the previous person had submitted a disavow file in July with some of the sites showing this anchor text. I am not sure what else to check, everything seems to be in order. Would July be early enough to make it for the penguin update? If they were disavowed, would they show as follow links still? Any ideas are welcome. Thank you!

  Tony McCreath: From what I've heard this latest update is from September data so July should have given it plenty of time for those disavowed links to be re-crawled.
