Only Small number of pages are indexed by Google

  Hardial Singh: We have one website having large number of pages but only few number of pages are indexed by Google. So we created multiple sitemaps and submitted them in Google Webmaster account. Now there are 32 Sitemap files and each file have 40,000 pages.
  
  It has been 2 weeks now but the number of indexed pages is not increasing. Everything is fine in Google Webmaster and there is no error.
  
  Is there any other way to get indexing for large number of pages in Google quickly?

  Vinay Trivedi: Can you please check the all page url, might be they have duplicate, or for example page url are same but after url ?next=1 those URLs are index but create a duplicate issues. So you can try to place the canonical. Or send me the domain name.

  Dave Elliott: If you dont get a lot of traffic then it could take up to a month or even longer. Have a look in webmaster tools and see how many pages are being crawled. Also check your robots.txt and check for meta no index tags on your pages.... Also 1.28 million pages? Umm that is a massive site. Id look for pages with thin or duplicate content there arent many sites that can get that many pages indexed.

  Mehar Bhagat (MB): +Hardial Singh ; Google initially took sitemap with 50K url's with 50MB in single file but now its 10MB with 50K URL's ;
  
  Also review your sitemap file for broken lines or spaces. ;
