Isn`t it all subdomains? Your www and m. are subdomains while your root domain is a subdomain of its tld.

William Rock: Interesting discussion, I would say it depends on what you`re doing with the subdomains and or subfolders. Over the years we have seen many different examples of ranking as well spam. So if your building out a ton of small microsites with a goal of ranking for every keyword in the book or have a m.domain it depends on so many factors making it difficult to say what the best answer is but it was nice to hear from John that Google can see both and rank them regardless
