I`ve seen the term "Silo" popping up more and more. Is it a blackhat method?

  Chris M Cloutier: I've seen the term "Silo" popping up more and more. Is it a blackhat method?  ;What does it mean?  ;Maybe its just me but "blog silo" sounds like somthing google wouldn't like

  Tim Capper: In a very basic sense, silo would be site structure.
  
  You have a section for SEO : in this would be your SEO content.
  
  Another section for Adwords: in this would be your content for adwords related pages.
  
  So siloing is a very good thing - or site structure.
  
  In a blog you would have
  
  Home Page
  
  Categories
  
  And in each category, related articles.
  
  So in this blog silo is a great thing.
  
  Has anyone else heard of it used in other ways?

  Chris M Cloutier: +Devin Peterson ;that's kinda the point.  ;He didn't really say anything, nothing that helped anyway.  ;And he dropped an affiliate link to a tool that, 1. is a pos, and 2. had pretty much nothing to do with what we were talking about.  ;He was just looking for a place to drop a link.
