  • Dave Elliott: From what i understand they are trying to sort the wix issue. As for ajax in general I was discussing this yesterday with people and we are finding that it isn't indexing perfectly yet but progress is being made.
  • Amit Kumar: My WIX website working fine in google, but not getting rank in Yahoo, now is dropping from Google Indexing.
  • Nevyana Karakasheva: the official stand of google on the question as of this Wednesday:

"In 2009, we made a proposal to make AJAX pages crawlable. Back then, our systems were not able to render and understand pages that use JavaScript to present content to users. Because "crawlers … [were] not able to see any content … created dynamically," we proposed a set of practices that webmasters can follow in order to ensure that their AJAX-based applications are indexed by search engines.
Times have changed. Today, as long as you're not blocking Googlebot from crawling your JavaScript or CSS files, we are generally able to render and understand your web pages like modern browsers."

  • Kamil Kanigowski: Hi, hope this helps https://www.seroundtable.com/wix-google-deindex-21034.html
  • Federico Sasso: +Nevyana Karakasheva ;Google statement is unrelated with the WiX issue: the search engine is deprecating the scheme, which just means it is stopping recommending its implementation, but is still supporting it, i.e. still crawling and indexing sites based on #! and escaped fragment.
+Kamil Kanigowski ;pointed to the right source. While it's not clear right now if it's more a WiX issue or a Google issue. Google seems to have changed the way it handled internally, but it's not clear if WiX implementation - while working until few days before - was 100% compliant to the specifications, or there was a loophole in the specs (I didn't check). So far webmasters of WiX based websites are told to just wait.
