How to get a site tracked by Analytics?

Dumb Question: I have a site, it`s hosted by a company purchased by EGI. The site went down two weeks ago. Ever since Google analytics does not track visits. The site is indexed, crawled, etc by google websmaster. Any ideas on how to get it tracked by Analytics?  thanks -JA

  • Richard Hearne: Couple of ideas:
    1. Have you checked that the JS tracking snippet is being output on your pages?
    2. Is your site resolving?
    3. Could your site be getting framed?
    4. Do you have JS errors on your pages?
    5. There is a Chrome plugin that allows you to debug GA tracking. It's from Google and called ;Google Analytics Debugger. With this you can see debug data in your developer console and quickly see what the tracking script is doing on your pages.

    BTW GA is not connected to Webmaster Tools in any way, so your site being indexed has no relevance. If Googlebot is able to crawl your site then your domain is resolving, so I'd say it's most likely a technical issue with your tracker set up.
  • John Allen: +Richard Hearne ;I'm having trouble with the RSS feed. I'm not sure about the JS. I'll look to it tomorrow as it is late here. Thanks a bunch for your ideas I will look into each of them ;
