  • Rob Baker: How does one check whether a website and landing pages are optimised for certain keywords?
  • Nishant Desai: Your website or Landing page shall have your targeted keyword in Title and also possibly your URL structure should have your main keyword.  ;If you can send me the link, I can check your website and landing page and can give you suggestions..!
  • Rob Baker: +Nishant Desai ;Much thanks! Have messaged you the url & keywords
  • Sundar Rawat: Check -
    1. Headings like H1, H2 and H3
    2. Check content density so you can understand what keywords are targeted via content.
    3. Check Title &  ;Description
    4. Check Google Suggestion on keywords and match with your research data (which came out after density checking and headings).
  • Rob Baker: +Sundar Rawat ;Thanks - what's best practise for the H2 tags?
  • Sundar Rawat: generally, marketers use it to target keyowoards' variations to maintain density like if you have a keyword 'Hangers' then see the suggestion what Google Suggests when you type Hangers in Search box. You will get some auto options down to box. inbound marketers are using relevant phrases to use those in H2 and making content healthy for SEs.
  • Nishant Desai: +Rob Baker ;Did not received your message having URL and Keywords.. Can you resend the message?
  • Rob Baker: +Nishant Desai ;Can  ;you see it now? It's in the form of a private message on G+
  • Nishant Desai: +Rob Baker ;Yes, responding to it in a while once have a look. :)
  • Greg Kristan: Use Google Webmaster Tools and break out the data from top pages and then you will get the idea of what the keywords are ;
  • Rob Baker: +Greg Kristan ;Thanks...could you possibly break this down into the steps necessary to do that.
  • Greg Kristan: Hi +Rob Baker, go to google and search webmaster tools. If you have set this up then click on your site. If not then you just need to submit your site and add a small code to your site like google analytics.

Then in webmaster tools click on search queries and then click on top pages.
Then your most popular pages will be listed with a small black arrow where you can then click on and see keywords only for that page.

Another option is taking the webmaster tools data and then putting the keywords into a keyword ranking tool to then see where the keywords rank for and for what page on your site.

I use a free tool called CuteRank which you can search in Google "CuteRank "

  • Rob Baker: +Greg Kristan ;Thanks! That list of keywords, is that the list of keywords that people have been searching on to arrive at that page, or is it set up from the page content?
  • Greg Kristan: Hi +Rob Baker, that list of keywords are what users are searching for where impressions show how many times your site came up and the clicks are who went to your site (clicked on) with that keyword search.

Webmaster tools however is not 100% accurate but better then the not provided in google analytics.
  • Rob Baker: Thanks ;+Greg Kristan ;& HNY! The keywords I want the page to rank for are in 2nd place. That might be ok?
  • Greg Kristan: 2nd place is more then fine. I would just double confirm with another keyword ranking software to get an idea of where you roughly rank. Webmaster tools takes an average and give ranks like 3.6
  • Rob Baker: +Greg Kristan ;Sorry, I don't mean the ranking of the keyword is 2, but rather the keywords are the 2nd set of keywords listed by Webmaster tools.
  • Greg Kristan: Hi +Rob Baker, I need more information on your question. Are you able to send me a private message? Not sure if Google + even allows it. I just don't want to spam everyone's inbox with our conversation
