  • CeS Inspections LLC: Www.cesinspectionstexas.com if that'll help show what I'm talking about.
  • Ryan Dinelle: If possible, ensure your images are using appropriate alt text and image titles. Also name the image files accordingly.
  • CeS Inspections LLC: okay cool. when I first started I wasn't renaming the files. I just didn't know if the slideshow images were being isolated and "read" separately or if it only recognized that a slideshow had been inserted w/o accessing each image

    Thank you for responding
  • Ryan Dinelle: Not a problem. I'm not sure what you are using for the slide show coding, but the image paths would need to be readable in the source code too.
  • Christina S: Which page has the slideshow?  ;I don't see that on the homepage.
  • CeS Inspections LLC: Its the images they slide...just slow by design. All the images are in a WordPress slideshow
  • Christina S: I didn't see it on the homepage. If it's so slow that they didn't start even after a few seconds there's something broken.
    Unless I get to see it and see the markup, I cannot tell whether or not the images have any chance of getting seen by a robot. If they only show up in javascript with no noscript equivalent, the robots won't see the so they cannot get indexed.
  • Christina S: OK I think I saw it. Doesn't look like images that it would be important to index, more like logos. ;
    I guess you mean code like this:
    <div class="slideshow_slide slideshow_slide_image"> <a target="_self"  ;rel="nofollow" > <img src="http://www.cesinspectionstexas.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/AnnualHomeMaintenance.png" alt="Annual Home Maintenance" width="600" height="514" /> </a>

    It's html code and there's an img tag with alt text so there's an image which can be indexed.

    They'd be all indexed eventually, though they are terribly hard to view and navigate around them. ;Not the best slideshow code IMO.
  • CeS Inspections LLC: Ya.. the arrows are clunky. Thx for the feedback it's really appreciated.
