Does wordcount matter to increase page rank?

I write a lot of 100 word post to describe the different hairstyles on my website. I`m not gaining any traction with SEO THOUGH. Do I need to increase my word count or is this the best I can get from these pages.?

Tim Capper: I see some don't even have content just the images ( i'm looking in bob hairstyles.

Each image should have an Alt Text - Description of the image.

Without diving into the sites architecture - 1 thing i would look at is all the Ads .

You Have Top, Left , Right, Bottom .... everywhere, I think this is one of your main problems !

Jim Munro: I'm with Tim, Clyde, your site is very busy. I think you should get traffic before posting ads and then only little by little.
Tim Capper: I dont the Ads are doing you any favours, there was an above the fold algorithm.

I would try and expand the 100 words, but try and package up the sections to provide a better experience - the content is a little thin and could cause problems as the site grows

Perambur Kumar: Word count always important more than 2000 words you can cement your place in top 10 of the Google Search Results. But 100 words is too low you can write atleast 300 words minimum
