Did Microsoft abandon Microsofts IIS SEO Toolkit?

Good morning fellows,
I was and am a huge fan of Microsofts IIS SEO Toolkit. But as I bought a new PC with the latest Windows 8.1 version I can`t find a way to install that plugin. Did Microsoft abandon this one? #seo?

  • Tim Capper: Oooh, thats strange, I reinstalled last week (not 8.1V)

+Alistair Lattimore ;might have an answer
  • Masched Akil: Ok, luckily I found the solution. Here's how it needs to be done:

The main issue is, that the installation through the official website is no longer possible - they point you to the "Web Platform Installer", where the SEO Toolkit seems to be no longer available.

Don't go here (Official Product Website):
    http://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/search-engine-optimization-toolkit

    1. Go here and download the Toolkit:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=24823

    2. Turn on IIS Services on your machine as described here (They are not active by default):
    http://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-turn-on-iis-internet-information-services

    3. Install the downloaded SEO Toolkit
  • Alistair Lattimore: You need to be able to install IIS as a prerequisite, can your version of Windows support that?
  • Masched Akil: Yes, It's all fine now, thanks - see my previous response
