Dumb SEO Questions

Cleaning up 301 redirects?

With 301 redirects do you take the time to go back through and change the old urls in your on-page content or do you leave them alone and let the 301 do its job?

Do you think it could possibly hurt the page authority if the links are left unchanged?

  • Tony McCreath: I personally change them and external ones if I can and have the time. I don`t think you will get hurt but it will probably leak some ranking and give the users a slightly slower experience.
