  Alan Bleiweiss: There are RIch cards, Answer Boxes, and Carousels, all above the 1st position organically. Earning visibility in Rich Cards and Carousels depends on a number of factors. Primarily: 1. Structured Markup language; 2. High overall quality, relevance and trust for the site specific to searcher intent.   Alan Bleiweiss: If you work to earn them, you can monitor your success, and even get guidance on cleaning them up for deeper value, inside Google Search Console.

  Alan Bleiweiss: Just want to clarify one more thing here. While you do not have to have structured markup for answer boxes, structured markup is appropriate for certain types of content, and for one of my clients, who own answer box results for a lot of Q&A type content, they use "scholarly article" Schema on their pages.

  Alan Bleiweiss: Another factor comes in when you answer common questions, and set up your site to be a true knowledge resource. Again, you`ll need strong overall site quality, relevance and trust. I have clients who dominate answer boxes across thousands of questions.

  Webado C Webada: I`ve seen them for other information, like song lyrics, definitions, how-to questions, etc. At least I assume they are rich cards. Can`t keep up.
