What is the best platform for a blog, WordPress?

Hey all,

I need to setup a blog outside my website, purpose is to generate traffic to the principal website. What is the best platform, WordPress?
It is a travel website
Appreciate if someone could assist me in developing a SEO friendly blog?

  • Tyler Groskreutz: The CMS is going to be largely irrelevant. All of them can be seo friendly, but it is going to come down to personal preference in using the backend. If you choose WordPress, I don't recommend suddenly jumping to Joomla or Drupal.

    WordPress is going to have the largest community that can offer help in times if confusion and frustration.

    There are many free plugins that will help to have optimized website.

    Travel niche is very competitive but in the same time very interesting one. ;

    Link building potentials with a travel website are unlimited.

  • Craig Griffiths: Wordpress is simple and has a bucket load of themes. There is also a plugin called Yoast that will help with the SEO. Remember pages rank, not an entire site so you need to produce content. Google want relevant content. They are constantly changing their algorithm to filter out tricks. Good regular content is king.
