How are they going to affect our SEO? our keywords will be different from theirs.Their Alexa rank is 89.I don`t mind being second on the search results when they search by name but In general, I want to grow our SEO for our Domain. Please can you help with this question?

YOUR ANSWERS

Selected answers from the Dumb SEO Questions Facebook & G+ community.

  • Perry Bernard: It will probably compete directly for brand search like you said. You may lose clicks to it for brand, which would be bad, and that’s bad because brand rank is ideally your first SEO advantage.

  • Devendra Pandey: In this case, even if you do a good seo and increase your brand visibility, it’s quite possible that your website also pops up when someone is searching for the other brand.. when such users click your site and find something else, they will shut your site and return to search the right thing.. due to this you will end up having very high bounce rate which is bad in seo.

  • George Georgiadis: Devendra Pandey oh I see many thanks

  • Perry Bernard: Devendra Pandey the bounce rate theory is false mate. But it comes about because it relates to “return to search” rate. It’s not true that GA bounce rate affects SEO.
