Rebranding to a new website domai

Hello guys, thanks for accepting..
Now I have a serious issue, I am rebranding to a new website domain, and just verified both domains ownership through dns in Google search console..but as I don`t want to lose link juice from old urls, I wanted to inform google with website change, but they say this feature is only available at the old search console, when I click the old search console, it takes me to a page where I should resign up, and then takes me to the new search console..I am really stuck, any suggestions on how to use change of address tool will be much appreciated.

  • Richard Hearne: If you`re logged into your google account you should be able to visit https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home?hl=en (old GSC). You might just need to clear your cookies or start in incognito mode to begin a fresh cookieless session.
  • Fariss El Mountasser: I did as you suggested, but doesn`t work
  • Richard Hearne: incognito window same?
  • Richard Hearne: It`s surely a cookie issue. If not then something very weird with your Google account.
  • Fariss El Mountasser: Yeah incognito window, even changed browser.
  • Richard Hearne: You`ll need to try to get help from Google`s product forums, and then hope that someone inside Google can help you. What you describe is not normal.
  • Fariss El Mountasser: I am in deep research now, seems they are leaving the old change of address tool altogether, now they recommend 301 redirects via htaccess...
  • Michael Martinez: 301 redirects should be fine. I`ve used them to move sites for years. Never had a problem.
  • Dahlian R. Lamy: Fariss, if you used the DOMAIN option when adding the website property to GSC, the ability to submit a change of address may not be unavailable.

You will need to submit your website properties using the URL Prefix method and then do the Change of Address.
