Get a good ranking without links

Let’s say in my web I have “page A” where I give free info , and “page b” where I sell my services .Will page b (money page) get good positions in rankings without links if “page A” with free info get many links from many sources ? Of course in “page A” there is an internal link to page b. But I think it’s not enough to make page b rank good . Let me know you opinion, any case study?

  • Stockbridge Truslow: Sure. Don`t need a case study... A gets the traffic, your job there is to inform and convert. Now, of course, the trick is to subtly convert or at least make it look like that`s not the whole point of the page or else it will be harder to get links from your competitors. ;)
  • Josu Sánchez Arnalda: Page A gets traffic but that traffic just want free info , just a around 5-10% convert to clients, I know that is better than nothing , but what I want to know is if page B will eventually rank for his kewyword thanks to the link juice from page a
  • Stockbridge Truslow: 5% conversion rate is pretty good. 10% is amazing by most standards.

That said... if you mark up your money page with "Product" or "Service" structured data and can send a clear signal that your info page is an info/article page and your money page is a money page - then variations on the term which infer intent will definitely get that other page to rank - for variations which tell Google they want to "buy" rather than "learn" anyway. Ambiguous searches will most likely always hit the info page first (if all other things are considered equal).
  • Josu Sánchez Arnalda: In Russian language My free page is ranking 2nd for “Spanish for beginners” but my money page is ranking 20 for “Spanish courses in Moscow “.

My page of free stuff is getting many links but of course is not ranking for courses .

Is there a chance that my courses page will rank better for the keyword of courses thanks from the link juice of the free page which is ranking 2 for his keywords ?
  • Stockbridge Truslow: Does your course page have Course markup? https://schema.org/Course
  • Josu Sánchez Arnalda: Has schema for local business , it’s that fine ?
  • Stockbridge Truslow: Give it the course markup, too. There are some examples on that page on how to mark up various types and things. (Scroll way down). It`s specific to what is on that specific page (a Spanish for Beginners course). Local business should be on there too as the "location" for the course - but describing the course in markup with as many relevant fields as you have will help it rank really well.

Google has some more tips for that specific thing here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/course
  • Josu Sánchez Arnalda: Stockbridge Truslow thanks ! Is it any free plugin to put schema? I found one but it cost 250 Dolars
  • Stockbridge Truslow: This will generate the JSON-LD script that you can paste into the page. Use the first link I gave you to get better description of what is supposed to be in each field.
    https://schema.pythonanywhere.com/Course
  • Josu Sánchez Arnalda: Thanks ! I will try learn how to make it work
  • Stockbridge Truslow: Good luck. Structured data is very powerful stuff. So learning about it can really help you with things like this.

You might also expand your LocalBusiness markup (or rather, make it more specific) by looking at
    https://schema.org/EducationalOrganization
    or
    https://schema.org/School
  • Michael Martinez: Internal links work just fine for helping other pages rank well in search results. Most of the Web pages shown in search results have no offsite backlinks.
