Ranking Fluctuations on an hourly basis

  Atish Hemade: Ranking Fluctuations on an hourly basis -
  Hey guys running a magento ecommerce website on AWS. Now I know rankings can fluctuate on monthly and at times on a daily basis with all the possible factors like algorithm updates, on page changes, no.of backlinks etc.-
  But the keywords of this magento website(v 1.9) are fluctuating hourly/daily. Seeing this activity for last the 3 months.
  Target is Google India.
  These are keywords with volume ranging from 3000 to 50,000 plus. Keywords rank in the range of 80 to 200+ positions , later in the evening within the top 20 positions.
  Can any of you guys tell me why is this happening and possible solutions?

  Dave Elliott: what are using to check the ranks? if you are doing it manually are you fully incognito and clearing cache etc. It is unlikely that your site is being crawled that regularly so my guess is some personalisation is infecting your results..... i don't think i even have a tool that checks rankings more regularly than daily!

  Atish Hemade: +Dave Elliott Hi Dave, yes checking rankings on incognito mode, clearing cache..manually

  Jordan Lowry: I would recommend using some software system to check rankings. However, there has been some talk about Google releasing some sort of algorithm update according to search engine land. That could be why.

  Jordan Lowry: I wouldnt worry too much but I would check on a weekly basis and then compare and contrast.
