Moz is seeing high correlations between the number of +1`s a page has and its search rankings. What do you think?

According to an article released today, Moz is seeing high correlations between the number of +1`s a page has and its search rankings. so much so that the number of +1`s is actually beating out the # of linking root domains in terms of effect on rankings. I haven`t had much of an opportunity to experiment with G+ for clients. Is anyone seeing data similar to this?

  • Andrei Gherghel: It's pretty normal. Good content is shared and gets +1, fb likes....etc. This doesn't mean that the specific page is ranking because of the high number of +1.
  • Alex Morask: Well its also interesting because of the passage of link equity aspect.
  • Corey Blinks: Hey Alex...I went to a workshop about G+ effects on Google's search results and people (or companies) who tend to have bigger G+ presence (s) are able to manipulate Google search results more readily. ;
