  • Yasser Mohamed: I use Rank Tracker. ; You enter your website URL and then chose the search engines/countries you want the info for, then enter your keywords and it brings up a report showing your rankings for each keyword in each of the different search engines. There is a downloadable ; free version to try but you can't save your ranking reports on the free version.
  • Craig Griffiths: Thanks Yasser,

I have just been throwing content at my blog for about two years.  ;I write to be read, not so much with a focus on keywords etc.

It all focuses on small business and marketing small business. I was just wondering if I am ranking for a keyword I was unaware.

Perhaps I am first in Google for widget, because I alway refer to the "mythical widget".

I was hoping there was a find the keyword you are already ranking for type tool.

I'll have a look at Rank Tracker sounds good.
  • Yasser Mohamed: No worries +Craig Griffiths happy to help. ; I am no expert but I find Rank Tracker really useful. ; Maybe someone else knows about other tools that work the ; way you described. Anyone?
  • Ranu Jain: Hi Craig,

You can use SEMRush. You just need to enter the URL you want to see the keywords ranking for.  ;It will give you the Organic Report for ;URL that includes Keyword Position, Volume and CPC. Its free but to get detailed report you need to buy a paid version.

Another tool is Rank Checker. Its completely free but here you need to enter the keywords first and then it will give you the URLs that are ranking for those keywords.
  • Dave Elliott: Google webmaster tools will give you a fair idea
  • W.E. Jonk: If you want to know for what you are ranking on Google there is only one source, namely the search queries in Google Webmaster Tools [1]. Other tools use this data from GWT or violate Google's terms and services because in order to get the data they need to  ;scrrape the data from Google [2].

However Google's webmaster tools can be quite limited. For example they only show the data from the last 90 days and for data under 10 data points is not being showed. There are solutions that you can use to save the data on your own machine and many of tools vendors use that solution too [3].
