  • David Matson: Digital PR is not spammy because it only works if you are promoting something that has genuine interest. You aren`t going to get any decent links for pitching shady or useless crap.
  • Kevin Carney: David Matson Doesn`t Digital PR include link building? Is it a bit of doublespeak for Google to say "don`t do link building" but "do digital PR"?Don`t get me wrong, I`ve believed for years that there is good link building and bad link building, I just find it interesting that Google feels it`s appropriate to label good link building as Digital PR.
  • Peter Wolf: When I hear PR, I think of how modern PR firms spread brand awareness - everything you would imagine including traditional ad buying, writing articles in journals, speaking engagements, case studies, expert quotes for journalists, etc. When I hear digital PR, I’m imaging all of that with a focus on the digital world.Good SEO practices will go hand in glove with that. Useful, readable, shareable content will be king when it comes to PR.
  • Kevin Carney: Peter Wolf I think it always has been, but in the last few decades content has become cheaper, easier to produce, and easier to share. Thereby changing some important aspects of PR.It seems to be the PR is a focus on brand building, which includes content and links, but content and links does not necessary include a focus on brand building.
  • Peter Wolf: It might be in the definitions.Brand is all in how we are perceived. Our content and links play a role in that.
