Is it harmful to place the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page?

Hi guys, does it harm to place the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page instead at the top for SEO purposes? A client has no breadcrumbs atm, but adding breadcrumbs at the top is hard due to the design. So we would add them at the bottom of the page and also add micro data to highlight the breadcrumbs What do you think? Thanks!
