I`m not sure if I should create a subdomain or start a new domai

Hi Everyone - I have a question - I`ve been running my self-hosted Wordpress blog for 14 years and I`ve racked up more than 3500 posts on it, so it`s definitely not a niche site - I am thinking of moving Music posts (rougly 1700 of them) to another domain, but I`m not sure if I should create a subdomain or start a new domain on it`s own? What would be better for SEO?

Michael Martinez: Neither is better or worse for SEO. But unless you want to build a megasite (multiple subdomains) over time, my recommendation (as someone who runs megasites) is that you use a new, brandable standalone domain to host the music posts. You`ll have more flexibility going forward in terms of technical support, design, hosting, etc.
Henno Kruger: Michael Martinez Thanks, that`s what I thought - I get a lot of press releases and that`s obviously not original content (a ton of websites are posting the same releases in South Africa) - getting those posts onto its own domain will actually benefit my site (in the long run)
