Google Business Profiles for 2x Businesses Sharing Same Locatio

! Google Business Profiles for 2x Businesses Sharing Same Location ! In the scenario that there are 2x businesses that share the same location and I wanted to set up separate GBPs for them, what would happen in theory if they had the following, and how detrimental would it be? Same Phone Number AND/OR Same Category This is for a chain of businesses that operate out of or alongside other businesses.

In ALL instances the businesses have completely different names, branding, signage, and websites.

In SOME instances the businesses have completely different categories, but in some instances, they do not.

In MOST instances the businesses are leveraging the same phone number.

I want to understand the impact primarily of sharing the phone number, as I can pretty much guess the impact of sharing a category.

>>> Essentially, will Google prevent me from creating the 2nd listing? Will Google penalise one or both of the GBPs? Will there be display issues for one or both of the GBPs?

Any tips around one/both of these roadblocks? This situation absolutely warrants for 2x separate listings. Think ATMs within a service station - Very close to that kind of scenario. We need ~260 of these listings.

  • S. M. Fahim: NAP (Name, Address, Phone) is what matters for GBP. At least one of them must not be the same. Although I prefer not using the same number. If you have the same category, e.g. same type of businesses, then one will override the other when you look up the location on the map. Only one will be visible. However, when you search for the business, or even non branded keywords, then you`ll find both the businesses in search results. I`d suggest having a website for each business, not just a GBP, and populate the GBP with unique information so that it`s clear that the businesses are different.
  • Emma Kay: Thanks for your feedback! Very much my thoughts when it comes to the shared category.Currently there are separate websites for the businesses, so thats fine. Essentially all the information will be different except for: Location, Phone Number, & (likely) Hours.I am unsure how much of an issue this will be....
  • Tim Capper: Same Tel Number - will get one or both suspended
  • Stephen Pickles: Same phone number equals suspension. Numbers have to be unique and going to the staff at that location.
