I need advice about how to choose main keywords

Hey beautiful people, AAm a newbie to SEO, I need advice about how to choose main keywords of category pages of a Blog, what criteria should I use to select keywords for the category pages, is it search volume? Should I choose keywords with higher volumes in my Niche as Keywords for my category pages?

Perry Bernard: Volume is a consideration but relevance is more important, so you should first create a list of the most relevant keywords, then sort by volume. That said, even more important ahead of relevance is whether the keywords and your content are part of the journey towards your siteâ€™s objective. This last point is not something you can figure out quickly with SEO work, so itâ€™s entirely possible you could successfully gain traffic through great SEO and still not achieve your actual objective (unless it is traffic).
Huma Kanwal: It doesn`t matter. Better to keep Categories non index in case of blog.
