How to rank high on Google maps?

Hey guys, new here and will try to give my input every time I can.I had a question. I am trying to rank multiple gmbs for a company that has a few atm machines in different locations. Would you create citations (from the same website) to these different locations? What other way can you get them to rank high on Google maps? Thank you.

You could create location pages on site, resources like creating maps grouped by areas. Are these in independent stores ? - ask the stores to mention they have an XYZ brand atm machine in store + link would be nice :)
